BESPOKE ORDER EVENT at COLLABORATION STYLE

Apron Front Derby in Dark Brown Utah Calf

In February 2026, we held a bespoke shoe order event at Collaboration Style. We have been holding order events at Collaboration Style for many years, ever since Mr. Uehara, the owner of the store, opened it in 2013.

At this order event, we delivered two pairs of shoes and conducted fittings for seven pairs of trial shoes. In this report, we will introduce some of them. First, we will show you the trial fitting process.

The first fitting we'll introduce is the initial trial fitting using clear plastic. This method allows us to visually confirm the contact between the foot and the shoe and make adjustments accordingly.
The photo shows the forefoot being checked in particular. If there is insufficient or excessive space in the forefoot, the top of the big toe may rub against the shoe when walking. Therefore, adjusting the space between the toes and the upper is a very important process. There are often slight differences in the height and shape of the toes on the left and right feet, and this time too, we confirmed the adjustment points with that in mind.
For the next leather trial fitting, we plan to implement the fitting reflecting the details confirmed this time.

This is a trial fitting of full brogue Oxfords. After the clear plastic trial fitting, we conducted a fitting with leather trial shoes.
The customer requested a "just right fitting that is neither too tight nor too loose," so we created the shoes with that wearing comfort in mind.
The last used for these shoes is a chisel toe, which means it is less likely to rub against the pinky toe when bent compared to a round toe. Therefore, the fitting on the pinky toe side tends to be more aggressive than with a round toe. At our atelier, we aim to achieve the unique wearing comfort of Yuki Shirahama Bottier's bespoke shoes, tailored to the customer's preferences, by making extremely subtle adjustments to the horizontal, bottom, and top spaces, taking into account the characteristics of each last shape.
Based on the detailed adjustments made in this trial fitting, we will proceed with production for the next delivery.

The shoes in the photo are side-elastic shoes that were delivered previously. This customer is a repeat client who has been using our shoes for many years, and this time they visited us for a trial fitting. The shoes currently in production were in good fitting condition, so they have moved into the production phase for delivery at the next order event.

Jacket and tie

During this visit, in addition to shoe fittings, the customer also picked up a completed jacket and selected a tie to match it.
At Collaboration Style, as a custom-made specialty store, they work closely with customers to create a complete look. In this process, Shirahama also offers various proposals regarding shoes.

The photo shows the Utah calf apron front derby that we delivered to Mr. Uehara this time. Mr. Uehara himself has enjoyed many of our atelier's shoes to date, and this time too, we handed them over while explaining the fitting, design, materials, and other details.

This is a semi-brogue oxford that we previously delivered to Mr. Uehara. It is a pair made using Annonay Bocalou leather, and he continues to cherish and use them. Shoes that have been worn for many years develop a richer character than when they were first delivered. It is one of our greatest joys as creators to see them being used continuously in this way.

Once again, many customers visited us, making it a fulfilling order event. The next Collaboration Style order event will be held on Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th. As it is by appointment, please make a reservation using the contact information below if you wish to visit.
Additionally, we plan to bring newly sourced leather from Du Puy next time. Please feel free to pick it up and see it in person when you visit.
