AGOL is a shoe brand that expresses refined simplicity, with understated elegance and functional beauty.

The brand name was born from the phrase "Stay Gold" - "Stay as you are and keep shining." We hope that our shoes will bring a touch of sparkle to every day life. We hope that our shoes will quietly light up the lives of those who wear them.

The brand is run by Yuki Shirahama Bottier's Shirahama and Murayoshi, who have both honed their craft in the field of bespoke shoes. AGOL was started out of a desire to go beyond the boundaries of bespoke shoes, which are only available to a select few, and to provide "a pair of shoes that will enhance your everyday life" to as many people as possible.

With this attitude as our foundation, we strive to create shoes that naturally blend in with the wearer's style.

Project

FAV collection

The FAV collection is a sneaker collection that started as AGOL's first project. In designing the FAV collection, we were always conscious of being "modern."

However, "modern" here does not mean simply a fad or a passing style. It means something that will not go out of style even in a rapidly changing era, but will deepen over time and have a universal quality that will continue to be loved for a long time.

We believe that this universality can be achieved not by simply adjusting the shape, but by subtly weaving classic elements into the design. We aim to create a look that is somehow nostalgic yet new, without being swept away by the times.

The first two models to be released as part of the FAV collection, Derby and Chukka, are important models that will be the starting point for shaping the brand's image going forward. For this reason, we made repeated detailed adjustments to the pattern making that determines the contours and silhouettes of both models, and carefully refined the design lines.

Derby is designed as a short shoe that can be worn all year round, and blends naturally into your daily life regardless of the season or style. On the other hand, Chukka is a short boot with a clean impression. While it has the so-called "boot-like" feel, it is not overly rugged, and we pursued a moderate appearance that adults can wear comfortably in their daily lives. Although it is a sneaker type, we were conscious of it being established as a presence that adds elegance to the feet.

While based on the traditional techniques and structures cultivated in bespoke, the FAV collection aims for a quiet presence with no unnecessary decoration. The upper incorporates techniques such as beading, and the simple design is accentuated with subtle shadows to create a sophisticated mood. The soles are made of rubber (such as Vibram), so even people who are used to leather shoes can wear them comfortably as recovery shoes.

The lining is made of full leather to prevent deterioration and ensure durability and comfort for long-term use. In addition, the construction uses the side McKay method to provide a soft feel that conforms to your feet the more you wear them.

There is no clear answer to the question "What is modern?" Because different people have different perceptions and there is no uniform definition. That is why we have placed importance on not leaving "modern" as a sensory term, but translating it into a design language and carefully incorporating it into our products.

It is our hope that this pair of shoes will quietly blend into your everyday scenery and eventually become one of your favorites.
